Hi. Do you have a picture of the shower floor tile?

Are you only retiling the shower, or also changing the floor, vanity and tub surround? If so, we need to see all of the materials. Do you have an inspiration picture? What size are the blue tiles?

Its a gut job! Here are all the materials. Cabinets are navy. Brushed nickel hardware

Navy penny tile on the shower floor. glass tiles are 3x12.

thats a sample of the quartz counter tops.

note- cabinets and counters are a done deal. tile can be changed. now Im second guessing all my choices based on advice given 😩

Your inspiration photo is nice. Do it just like that. Put your accent tile in a narrow strip behind the shower controls and in the niche. The color of the tiles will be similar to a waterfall. Lay them vertically.

do not use those blue glass subways tiles in an accent. too big, too busy and doesn't work w/the marble look tiles, or your quartz countertop. once that coutertop is in, it's very busy looking. (I'd actually rethink doing that one)

Here's what they will look like

Is the marble look tile going on the floor of the bathroom, or on the wall of the shower?

if you want to accent a niche, use those penny tiles and a solid white quartz for the shelf.

If you want this, use a solid, large tile like shown in the picture and get a glass mosaic for the accent.

you could use a solid white 4x12 tile (larger than this one)

deeper cobalt color (the one you have is going to look almost black by the time it's installed)

larger format white tile for the shower walls

and if you like an accent, try something like this (w/diff white tiles)

get a marble top for the vanity, and use a piece of it for the shower curb. (or do a marble look quartz)

I'd use a solid white top or a marble top for the vanity

this one is a classic look

you could easily do something like this along that entire wall behind the vanity.

    Marble countertop, and marble floor.

here's another idea for the shower

Use these larger 4x12 white tiles in a stacked pattern, and do an accent wall in another tile, but not something super busy.

You see how they did 3 diff tiles in this shower? it all works because of the neutral color.

I think the vanity countertop choice is the one element that doesn’t work with the others. And make sure your tile guy knows how to handle penny tile as was mentioned above ^^^.

It might be helpful to narrow your color choices down to three colors (blue-white-grey) instead of the four that you have (blue-gray-white-greige). I agree the countertop color is not quite right with the navy vanity and a marble one would be much prettier.

I like your countertop choice with the blue cabinets. I also like the idea above of using a plain, white, larger-format subway tile rather than the marble look for the shower. Just one less pattern. I also like your inspiration picture of the accent tile stripe behind the fixtures. Maybe do the niche in the subway tile so the accent tile and countertop are a bit more visually separated. Or maybe an accent tile that is a little more blue and taupe rather than blue and grey to blend in more with the countertop? What is the plan for the floor? The marble look tile or something else. For me, something with minimal pattern would be my choice.

Tops installed today and I am very pleased. going to change up my tile choices now though and go more neutral and simple.

The little backsplash may be a problem…it is dated and can conflict with any added material or decor on the wall

look at some of these tile/designs.

for instance, if you went w/a large hex tile on the floor, (white, gray, navy,) and then did stacked tile layout like this one,,

    or, even like this.

bring the smaller hex tile up the wall of the shower, do a stacked layout w/a 4x12 white subway tile

maybe do the same color on the shower floor, but in a small hex or penny.

You'd do the navy and white, or even gray.

here they did the subway and a chevron wall

    vertical stack w/these white tiles

for the niche, do your glass mosaic or pennies

Or, what if you did the niche/shower floor in this porcelain blue/white marble look?

    https://www.tileamerica.com/products/1/441/trending-tile/ocean-blue

then you could do the walls in the white tile. either like this, or the other layout.

here's a light white or gray tile like above, in an offset, paired w/a marble look large hex tile.

this gray chevron (or you could do a herringbone) with longer, 4" tiles, is also an option. this gray looks nice w/your vanity

You could even do this on the floor of the bathroom.

your vanity looks almost black, so if you do a blue, make sure it's the right shade

    any of these should work.

    see below.

you could mix these blue tiles w/the white and do a sort of ombre or scatter effect.

or you can do them in a pattern like this, on the floor or on the shower walls. (using the white/gray or navy)

I actually love something like this for the shower.

you could do a solid white, gray or navy outside the shower on the floor.

    half navy half white

Or, get a few color blues/grays/white on the subway tiles and lay them out in a scatter pattern:
these are the perfect colors for your vanity and top.

    https://www.mandarinstone.com/inspiration/herringbone-tile-inspiration/

I'd start this on your outside floor, continue into the shower and up the wall, varying the colors.

kind of how they show here but w/the blues/whites/grays.

    I love this look.

found some tiles you could use w/the subway herringbone. the white/navy at the bottom:

another design option, go w/this dark midnight blue to match your vanity.

Is the wall of your shower the same wall as your vanity? you could carry the tile all the way across so that you get this effect: (ignore the shower stuff)

    midnight navy zellige tile
