Maryl: Roman Steel is so pretty with the color. And those teeth...wow. What is the pink flowers behind it? I do like your 'not' Ruby but Ruby Sister. Nice green throat on it.

What a lovely trio of Roman Steel, lovely clear color, nice edge and opened nicely. I like Ruby's Sister too. Cactus Jack has a nice big eye.

Love that triple bloom, such a nice daylily. i know what you mean about capturing those peachy/cantelope colors, I struggle eith that too. What a lovely yellow bloom, registered or not, a keeper.

I agree-that photo of Roman Steel is a stunner! And you know how I feel about yellow so really like Rudy’s Sister.

Julia: The pink flower is Lythrum: cultivar 'Morden's Pink'. Now almost totally banned from commerce in the US because the species Lythrum invades the wetlands in Minnesota and other northern states. This is not the species nor the wetlands and has never spread in the 30 + years I've grown it....Nancy/Debra: RE: Cactus Jack. I don't usually like eyed daylilies, but as you all noted the extra large size of the eye, along with the matching dark edge and cantaloupe base color, shouted "buy me" and, on impulse, I did just that. Once I got it home I found out it's an evergreen, so we will see if it survives my winters (or my hot summers in the sun)...........Sherry: It does get a little maddening when your eye can see a glorious color but the camera can't capture it. Happens to the best of us unfortunately.......Kate: Rudy's Sister just glows. You know I'm not much for UF's and greeny/lemon yellow is not my usual favorite shade, but the hybridizer and I agree that I will continue to grow Rudy's Sister to see if she's worth introduction. She did so well in 92 degree heat, with no loss of color or petal substance (like Rudy which also did well in the heat) that I'm hoping she will continue to improve. A sunfast/colorfast daylily is always interesting for we heat sufferers............Maryl

Roman Steel: is my kind of bloom,. Sherry and three makes it even better. My camera sometimes has issues with orangy colors too, That has to be a beauty when you can see the actual color since it is a beauty with the color that shows. I am so glad your season is beginning. Ruby's Sister is beautiful too.

Thanks Kay. The weather was in the low 80's when I saw Cactus Jack, so the pretty cantaloupe base color I liked so much may fade to off white as the heat goes up. We will see...... Roman Steel seems to be a good plant as well as having pretty blooms. If so, it will be my first successful Pierce................Maryl
