Eden! That was an easy one.

Hi Ben, that would be my first guess too. However I thought Eden was a climber?

Thanks for IDing it for me Ben!

Climbers often don't climb if they are in a climate where they die back in the winter. But a 7' self supporting bush is pretty great if you ask me.

Thanks Magpie!

That was my thought too...Eden. :)

Eden actually does terrfically well as a big freestadning bush. My realtor told me to cut all my roses down to 3 ft Iincluding climbers to better sell my house. Several neighbors have told me Eden was spectacular this spring. I’ve see it flower heavily as a bush in other places too, apparently horizontal training is optional for this one.

I grow my Edens as a big free-standing bush, as Ben said. Yes, they're both next to a fence, but I've never had to train or tie them... they just gracefully grow to 7-9 feet, and then arch perfectly from the weight of the canes/blooms.

Hi Ben and Susan, good to know! I got an Eden this year and maybe I will remove the trellis behind it so that it will get more Sun.

@BenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14) That’s good to know. I may grow my eden as a shrub since i ran out of space for climbers.

Btw I’d thought climbing roses add charm to a house…did she/he tell you the reasons?

@BenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14) Wow! Congrats! All the hard work really paid off! yeah!

That’s actually a good news for me. I thought about expanding my garden area and make two new rose beds but worried it would be high maintenance for future buyers. I think I’m gonna do it then lol

Ben - your roses are absolutely stunning...I'm so glad they helped you sell the house!

Ben, congratulations! how wonderful your roses helped you in such a big way
