Looks like the treatment in this photo was time…you can see the bottom left wood is less aged by the elements and it’s got more of the original stain. I think you can stain cedar gray but I think most folks just recommend patience and letting time do it’s thing if you want grey. In some climates it happens quick. Thermory is a good brand for that modern plank look.
