Suggest white with grey grout lines, which will work well with appliances, floor and even counter. (My son installed peel and stick about 3 years ago and even behind stove, they are still like new. Look for good quality.

Accessories will be important as well; counter, a vinyl mat and if budget alllows, new lighting (that you can take when leaving).

IMO peel and stick will not survive behind the range and honestly I would not bother . Add some fun colored appliances and a nice better light fixture with mor than one head so a track with LEDs 4000K a nice bowl of fruit or fresh flowers and colored tea towels

We have peel and stick wallpaper from etsy as our temp backslash until a remodel. Almost 2 years later it still looks great and cleans well-even tomato sauce splatter from behind the stove.

I agree - life is short, put up the temp wallpaper and enjoy it.. i would do all the space between the counters and cabinets

I like the idea of a fun wallpaper backsplash rather than a fake tile. New light for sure, try a restore near you.
