I wouldn't paint that--it's very nice and I bet your neighbors with the painted fronts will be jealous in a few years if you keep it. I could see painting the garage door and white gable in a quieter color (grey green maybe?), but over all, it is very pleasing in appearance. It's a lovely home with lovely landscaping. The block/brick is quite perfect here.

Yours is a really nice color, no way would I paint it. It fits the natural surroundings so well, which is the intention of them.

There are companies that go around sandblasting paint off these homes (very costly) because people realize they’d rather have the natural color back.

And I think painting this surface is more complicated than regular brick, due to the heavy texture. It’ll be a lot of work, a lot of money, and will lose character. I’d make other changes that aren’t so permanent.

Keep in mind, too, being in the location you are, how a light paint will show mud, dirt, etc, and get stained.

I agree with Fori it looks great as is with the exeption of the garage and gable. you can get paint chips to hold up to your brick and roof to find something that works. Heres what we painted our once white garage and it looks so much better.

@Jilly You're right about the sandblasting, that is definitely a thing that happens - predominently in the neighborhoods with more interesting architecture, but I understand your point! The cost isn't really prohibitive but the potential regret is what's on my mind. ;-)

I realized I should have asked for input regarding the gable/trim/garage colors if I choose to leave the block alone so I really appreciate you chiming in with your ideas! I really hate the white with the orange and my roof is also a reddish/orange/brown. So much orange!

I love this house, but OP, please get a picture from slightly farther away with the sun at your back so that the front of the house is not shaded. I think you should invest in a nicer garage door since it is such a prominent feature of the house.

I think the brick looks quite nice. I agree with an earlier posters who mentioned the gable and the garage door. The bright white garage door really jumps out at you, and the gable is smaller, but also white. It seems to me that you could accomplish a lot by painting the gable and the garage door a warm tan or light brown that is close to the color of the bricks. At least until you're ready to replace the garage door.

@Joy Cook we have a similar style home and I'd love to see what you ended up doing! I had planned to do a beigy-white but after reading all the comments I'm having second thoughts, so would love any inspiration!
