Which Sonoma tile finish

Hi

i posted previuosly, but still am so undecided about which tile finish to pick; silk ( matte finish) or irridescent ( but of a shimmer to it)

. they are both beautiful tones of light blue , but the color never respresnts well when i photograph it indoors, so i took a few outside to help show the color / finish better .

the sample board has both finsihes side by side i indicated the sides with written note to help see the difference, as its hard to tell pics.

id love to hear from those who may have sonoma tiles and about which finish you chose and how you like it .

its for my barhroom, will be done on entire wall floor to ceiling behind a white vanity

I used Sonoma Vihara in 2 bathrooms in my previous house. Showed you a photo in your other thread. Also tested it in the kitchen, but didn't use it there.

Iridescent - if you do not have direct sunlight hitting it.

Silk - if you have direct sunlight hitting it.

You've wasted a few weeks! What are their lead times running 8 - 12 weeks?

hi, yes, thank you for responding again.

i just cant do recall your advice about lighting which i have on my mist if considerations

unfortunatty i cant decide, and im not in a rush, so im not worred about lost time. they are est 6-8 weeks, which is fine with us doing a kitchen at the same time , and kitchen timeline is a bit more pressing. we have 3 other bathrooms we can use, , so not stressing about it 😊

If you love them both and can't decide, then get your spouse and/or kids to take a vote or just flip a coin! ;-)

    Lol… could be an option.

I have been looking at that exact tile and will probably go with the silk because I like the softness of it. This is for the master shower, which has only two walls and I think I'm going to pair it with one of their large glass tiles in the matte finish.

Either one is beautiful; you can't go wrong. However, you may want to consider Chispa's advice about the sun shining on it.

    Thanks telesaps

funny how you chose the same tile id love to see pics when you are done.

chispas suggestion about lighitng is a good one i am going to go with the irridescent i only have one window, and the bathroom doesnt get glaring light at all. i also spoke with a few tile stores and a lot of them suggested using the irridescent, since im using glossy wall tiles for the tub surround . i thought that made sense. so, ill choose the irredescent 🤷‍♀️

which wall tiles are toy choosing?

That will be beautiful I am probably using their Astoria glass in Bergamont matte, in the largest size which is 4 x 12 I believe, and laying it vertically. The only thing is there is a shipping charge for the Sonoma Tiles, and so I'm considering using Lunada Bay Tile, which has a very similar tile, because it is close by and I think I can just pick it up.

The hunt is still on . . .

The tile shop told me today that Lundad Bay makes the tiles for Sonoma

Tile, which I've never heard before.

I dont think that correct, from my own research ive looked i to both companies and i havent come across that info

I'm so excited for this thread, because I'm debating the same thing, with the same tiles! I am looking at the Sonoma Vihara Bodhi. I really want the iridescent and we won't have light on it, so sounds like that is the way to go. I actually originally wanted to Vinyasa color or the similar one in the Lunada tiles but may be being talked about of it. One thing I was told with Lunada is that they come cut on the ends, which means you can't put sheets together and have a nice waterfall look, which is what I wanted

    Hi! lynda

the sonoma tiles are so pretty they are all beautiful. im using the swish style in the lotus color( oale blue blend)

i kept debaoting between the two finishes for so long but then a few tile pros mentioned the glossy wall tiles going well with the irridescent, and it just made sense, so that is what i will be doing . i cant wait to see it instalelled!
