Buddy's Betsy beat Lava Flow this year. They usually bloom at the same time. Neither of them won honors as first openers this year. Begin with a Bang beat them both.

Aaron's Little Whopper is a cute little one.

Shipwreck Cove had its first flower open this season. You can bet some pollen went on it.

Now for some seedlings.

Lava Flow X (Philistine Champion X Small World Fire in the Hole) is an interesting color. This is its first year blooming.

We really like this one but I hope the sepals get better. This is Small World Fire in the Hole X Stoke the Fire.

This is another favorite today. It is Stella's Ruffled Fingers X Indelible Blood. Stella's Ruffled Fingers performs well for us, giving us three rounds of blooms usually, but the color is so so. I hope to keep the good characteristics and bring in some nicer colors. The color is here--wonder if it will rebloom.

Plain yellow daylilies are hard to sell, probably even worse when they are small flowers. Still, I think this seedling is very nice. It has wonderful substance and good branching. It is Merry Moppet X (Spacecoast Tiny Perfection X Forestlake Ragamuffin). It does have some gold metallic edge.

I was a little surprised at this seedling. It's Itsy Bitsy Spider X Indelible Blood. I didn't think we would get this dark of one crossing a yellow with a red.

This is Merry Moppet X (Little Red Bantam X Pinewood Light in the Darkness). The color is not as rich as this photo show.
