The beds at peak are absolutely glorious. That would make my heart sing too! I think my favorites among the singles are Dixie Highway and Lydia's Regal Robes. I like your photo of High Water Mark. Mine has never looked that purple. It's a pinkish lavender here.

My heart would be singing too, it is beating a little fast just looking at your pictures. Is your Judge Judy new? Please keep me up on how you like that one, you know how I love Davi plants.i thought about getting Larry's Obsession instead of Coach's Magic Man, taller and a little bigger, but it is a Petit and they often don't do well for me. Larry looks amazing. A lot I like here, but rather that continue my stream of consciousness, I love the form of Substantial Evidence, and wish I could see Rose Pink Sparkles in person. It looks very nice I. A picture, but at almost 9", must be amazing in person.

Debra, Dixie Highway is in a terrible spot and needs to be moved for better performance but so pretty when it blooms. High Water Mark was first bloom in the rain so maybe the difference in color?

Nancy, thanks for the sweet remarks. I wish you could see the Reimer in person too. His daylilies are huge and flat. I have four but may get more!! Because, as you know I need more plants!!! :)

Glorious display! And I can't believe that such an open smorgasbord doesn't attract herds of deer. The leaves approach seems to have minimized weeds.

Nancy, I forgot to answer your question about Judge Judy. These are the first blooms I have seen. Last year the deer enjoyed all the blooms in that bed. There is a tree that is exploding in growth near that bed and I need to relocate all plants so they will perform better. It is a monster bloom!

Mantis-I keep the plants sprayed with Bobbex through the season and also have Liquid Fence granules spread around. If not for that, there would be zero buds left as we do indeed have an abundance in the deer population. And yes, the cardboard/leaves method has made my life so much easier in maintaining those beds! In the far tree bed photo you can see the edges of cardboard in the picture-those brick are not permanent-they are holding down the cardboard as I am extending that bed. In the same picture in the far view of the new front bed you can see some black bags of leaves as I extend that bed as well.
