your Blue Angel has damage now so I'd think if it stays it would scorch next year too..my 2 Blue Angels are in dappled light and look nice..here's one..

I learned a lesson recently..my Diamond Lake (not BA but also blue) in a pot was scorched..I have no full sun but the pot was sitting in a brighter spot than where my inground hosta grow..I'm mad at myself for letting this happen..I had no idea the pot was getting too much sun..

I'd move BA if I were you..then take advantage of your sunny spot and plant a new plant!..

I've noticed that my Blue Angel burns easily. I try for full to mostly shade for it. Of course, I'm in Texas, so few hosta do well with full to mostly sun. Squash Casserole is the only one I can think of right off.

My Blue Angel never got much sunlight until my neighbour trimmed their trees 2 years ago. That summer Blue Angel got a bit of sun burn on one leaf. Last year, it was fine. Not sure if it got used to the sun, or the tree branches grew enough to shade it again.

Mines in full sun for about 8 hours....no problems. It should adapt and just water it a bit more that's all

Thank you for all your helpful comments. I guess in the fall it will be time to dig them up and relocate to a shadier spot. Not a fun project, but I guess I can make plans now since I will have to move a few in the shady spot too.

I have read that Blue Angel does well in the sun. I am not sure if this was from the sun or when the plants were leafing out we had a very hot spell. I would prefer not to move Blue Angel but if this is what would happen every year I guess I would have to. What are your thoughts?
