Front door color

Hi! I wanted to know what color you would go with for a front door color? We would be painting both doors. I don’t want to do blue or green because our neighbors have already done those colors. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I like a front door color that helps tie the house to the landcapinging. I noticed a bit of pink and purple flowers in your foundation plantings, and think this deep purple color might complement them well.

If no blue or green you're left with red or black. That's a pretty traditional house so IMO more adventurous colors wouldn't be appropriate. But when we bought our last house which was 100% stone on the front, the front door was orange and the shutters were eggplant, so what do I know? :-) Somebody liked it. We painted them dark green. The people who bought that house from us painted the front door red and the shutters black. That looked good too.

Your house is lovely. It already has a lot going on. You have 2 different roof materials, 3 different siding materials, board and batt, horizontal siding, multi colored stone, white, dark gray, black, light gray....and perfect big trim, windows with grids...etc. With all that going on I like the white doors, they are classic and clean and fit the style of home without adding yet another material or color. If you really don't like them then I would pick the same color black of the metal roof instead.

Consider it done and move on to another fun project.

Black would be the best choice, IMO. Where are your walks out to the front sidewalk? One from the main door would let people know where they're expected to enter your home. I would have guessed the door where the house number is serves as the front door.

Totally agree with white or black in your case. The white is very nice fit IMO. Good points from Rawketgrl.

I would say the door on the right is your main entrance but the photo leads to think it's the one on the left. I would leave the secondary door (left) in white.

I would go further, and actually paint the non-main-entrance door a gray close to the color of the stones, and then use a bright color to highlight the entrance that guests should use. Houses like this are confusing already.

Maybe take your que from the pretty perennial plants, even the grey green like on the lavender plants could be nice. Don’t care what the neighbors do.
