Search Function??

I'm no longer able to search within one forum. Am I missing something?

It still works. At least if you are signed on through GardenWeb. I use it often and almost always find what I am looking for.

There are some basics you have to observe: you need to know what forum the thread you are looking for is in. And when you enter your terms in the search box, it will give you a drop down menu of various places to search. Make sure you stay in the forum you chose, otherwise the search will be much too broad.

Since I never enter the site via Houzz (I find that platform really awkward to navigate), I have no idea if it works the same way.

Al's way is probably faster :-) And more specific.

Skip the local search function and use your favored search engine. Enter gardenweb + houzz and whatever it is you're searching for. I can't even find my own posts via the search feature here. I use mostly DuckDuckGo. Example: I used the search words gardenweb+houzz+air+layer on Google and this is what came up.

If you want information provided by an individual re a particular topic, just add their user name as one of the search words. If you want to search a particular forum, add that as well.

gardenweb+houzz+gardenfanatic2003+"container gardening"+"tomatoes" should yield everything you've said about the topic of tomatoes on the container gardening forum.

Thank you to gardenfanatic for asking the question and to tapla and gardengal for their responses. I was frustrated yesterday when I tried to find a previous post about a book recommendation and finally gave up. Now I'll give it another try.

I figured out the secret. Again, I went through the link tsuga provided. Then I logged in and I was able to search in the individual Forum. Yay! Thank you all - it was a group effort!
