Today was sort of tough on the daylilies. After a week or so of nighttime temperatures being in the high 60s to low 70s, last night was in the low 50s so many daylilies didn't open very well. Then the sun on this cloudless day sort of cooked some of them. The heats beginning to build again and by tomorrow we will be back in the 90s with no rain for days and none in sight for the next 10 days. The season is shaping up to be a subpar one. We water the daylilies, but it's not the same as a good soaking rain. Our grass turning brown now.

Lillian's Thin Ice presented two lovely blooms today. They weren't close enough to get a good shot of them together. I am not a fan of white daylilies, but I love these. The shape does it for me.

Artillery Fire has the best flower of any tet we grow.

I am also not a fan of lavender daylilies, but I love Flight of Orchids.

This is Wolverine X (Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You. Wolverine is a bit disappointing to me. The plant is a great grower and it sets seeds like crazy, but its color is a bit muddy in our garden. This is definitely an improvement in color. The pollen parent is a seedling of ours that is the best toothy red we grow. We hope it to be a future intro, as well as this offspring.

When we crossed Explosion in the Paint Factory with a non-striped daylily, we got no stripes at all. We crossed Pink Stripes with Perfect Pose, which is a non-striped daylily, all the offspring are striped. Here is the latest one to bloom.

We were hoping for purple with this one, but got magenta instead. This is Von Rock X Snidely Whiplash.

This is one of our daughter's seedlings. She like working with purple ones. It is Cosmic Sensation X Possible Side Effects.
