SDL (Simulated Divided Lites) is the best choice as far as aesthetics. The GBG (grids between the glass) make glass cleaning much easier and is popular in some areas. It really depends on what works in your area and what you are happy with.

I got the ones that snap in. Grills between the glass look so fake, and SDL are so expensive and so difficult for cleaning.

Agree that a lot depends on the home and the neighborhood - i live in an old house/neighborhood and we saved up for SDLs bc I feel like anything else would have looked off

I think you can tell between the glass out in daylight because there is a reflection on the glass across the divisions which isn't present with true or simulated divided lite. If that bugs you I would get the SDL. If 95% of people in that sample could not tell the difference at ten feet then lots of those people need glasses. And there's a big difference between not being able to tell the difference and not caring about the difference. Many people probably don't care, which is fine. Most people have a relatively low design IQ and go for only the most general impressions.

There's nothing wrong with any of the choices, it just depends on how authentic you want the divisions to look, how easy you want the cleaning to be, and your budget. I would go with no divisions rather than between the glass but that's my opinion.

With the above comments and more research, I think am leaning SDL but now have to decide to do the spacer bar or not. I think if I am going to go for it, I might as well do it all and do SDL with spacer bar
