Too much sun?

I have a lot of 'All Gold' and I can tell you that in my yard there is no discernible rhyme or reason that it does well in one spot and craps out in another. I have it flourishing in full sun, in heavy shade, in very dry areas and in more moist areas.

Mine either does well or it does not. If it does I'm happy and if it does not I move it.

My experience has been the same as cearbhail. All Gold is extremely finicky, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to where it does well/poorly. Now experimenting with Carex Everillo as an alternative. Thus far, it appears to be a much easier/more predictable plant to deal with.

in fall dig it up.. look at the roots.. and divide it in half.. and plant the other somewhere else..

and if it dies in the meantime.. put it on your list of plants to never buy again ... lifes to short to deal with problem plants.. unlike problem children.. you can give up on plants that piss you off ... and you cant be running an ER hospital for half you garden ... pshaw ...

eventually you will find that magical spot where it works ...

one thing for sure.. if you try drenching a yellow plant in july or august.. you will probably burn all the rest of the leaves.. but then.. at least you will know why they are all burnt in the heat of summer ...
