Large Empty dining room walls

I got this piece for my wall from Crate & Barrel but something seems off in this space still… should I return? Open to suggestions for something new …

The room appears to be in progress. Once you get carpet/curtains that will help.. Hold off it will depend on what you do with the other wall after you get curtains....

It looks off because it is approximately the same size as the window, but it’s turned horizontal to the window and a rectangular table. Turn it vertical and see if you like it better. It looks like you are aiming for a neutral, no-color palette. You might want to look into printing a large art photo in sepia tones (really large — as tall as the window) for the space opposite the lucite chairs. This is a Lewis Hine from www.allposters.com

It's lonely. Add to the wall.

Ill give my free opinion for what its worth. Your room looks off because firstly, its not finished, but secondly, its a mishmash of styles from mid century to farmhouse with super modern chairs. The wall art is farmhouse, its fine, you like it or you wouldnt have spent the money. Its large tho and maybe if it were over a buffet it would look more balanced and not just a heavy looking piece randomly on the wall. To get this more cohesive, id switch out the chairs to something less contemporary looking. The question is, what decorating style are you aiming for? maybe the right carpet will bridge all of the styles. Id like to read other opinions, good luck

Do you love the art? If not, take it back. Buy something you love.

Personally in my honest opinion that piece adds nothing to the room. You can probably do multiple large pictures there.

I understand what Freedom is saying. But....I am going through trying to finish up my Florida home. I don't have time to wait until I stumble upon the right art. We are not young couple starting out.

Since it seems you're going for mid-century modern, I'd do a warm-neutral natural grasscloth wallpaper on just the adjoining wall. Will warm things up, add some cool texture, help slightly with noise absorption and reflect the pretty woven pattern of the art work.

Thanks everyone! So I should have added that the only thing that HAS to stay in the room is the dining table because it’s my husbands and was expensive. The light was in the home and I think is too small and modern for the space. One of the photos someone added above is what I’m going for decor wise… so maybe I need dark chairs, black light fixture and a buffet

Also think maybe to flip it in between the windows like someone suggested above…

I would return it. It does not bring any interest to your dining room.

It's great but you're asking it to do a lot in terms of pulling the total room together.

More context would be helpful, we’re seeing one corner of a room. The wall decor needs to be cohesive with the entire space, not just one wall. Can you show the other sides of the room/connecting rooms? The art, textiles, etc that can be seen from this room?

We might recommend using artwork and a console instead. We have some images with ideas which might work better for you.
