First...those seedlings are terrific. I'm surprised that your two pinks zuzu and Dearest are showing a whitish blooming. Can't pick a favorite as I like them all. I may have asked you before about how well Breathing In Snowflakes performs but can't find where I may have asked. I'm looking for some dips and saw it is one. Your comments on it?

I too was wondering about Breathing in Snowflakes. It seems to grow well, as I see big clumps in pictures. In some pics, it looks a bit washed out, though that may be difficulty in photographing.

Yes, the seedlings look very impressive, with good scapes and bud count too, where visible.

How does Irresistible You perform, and what is its plant habit? I don't like Glory in Red here, as it blooms just above the foliage and is a bit of a space hog. Some Santa Lucias here are not good multipliers and have scant bud count.

Julia and Mantis - I can't really comment on how Breathing in Snowflakes performs. I got it last year, and it is just now blooming this year in a pot. Kay has a big clump of it, and it looks like it grows well for her. Irresistible You had a good bud count last year when there was plenty of rain in May - 18-23.. This year with virutually no rain in May, bud count is about 10 per scape. I set seed on it last year, so did not get any multiplying. Dearest Valentine throws lots of near white seedlings. I have five near whites out of it.

Wow, what a colorful beautiful post. For the regular blooms, I like Breathing In Snowflakes which does indeed grow very well for me. I also like Irresistible You, and Sugar Magnolia as well. and and I can't leave our Silver Sword.

The seedlings are4 amazing!Favorites are the Francis Busby seedling, Palace Garden Beauty X Karelia) x This Longing, Seedling Integrated Logistics X Sugar Magnolia 2 is a beautiful thing. I am always happy to see Leonard and it looks so good! The big red 8 inch one is also very nice as is, and I can't overlook the beautiful Pink Extraordinaire X Cexy Samantha #2.

More wonderful seedling photos….today seedling Integrated Logistics X Sugar Magnolia 2 made me stop and stare, love the sepals on this one, so pretty. I love the color on the 8” seedling! It is good to see Leonard is performing welll for you this season.

Lovely post of the registered but the seedlings take the prize here The Inimitable seedling always looks like it has a greenish cadt to it-so pretty. And there is that Palace Garden Beauty I liked so much last year. The Pink Extraordinaire seedling is beautiful.

Breathing in Snowflakes is really pretty. Silver Sword does not like me as well as I like it. I have had it twice, lost it twice. BF Cream Supreme appeals to me. I do think your seedling surpass the named ones. The 8" red seedling is gorgeous, and I love the Palace Garden Beauty and the Pink Extraordinaire seedlings, just stunning!

We did not get rain yesterday, but have had 3 brief downpours. I don't have a rain gage or anything that measures accurately, but not as much as 1/2" total. Still, maybe we will get more. My family is hoping they will lift the fireworks ban in the county.

Nancy - Silver Sword has multiplied very slowly here, but I think that has more to do with where it's planted than the plant itself. How odd that you've lost it twice. It's never been the registered height here. Until this year it was only 26-27 inches tall. Scapes this time are 30-32.

Kate - The green cast on the Inimitable seedling must just be the way your monitor interprets my photo. In real life, I don't notice a green cast. The seedling is very pretty though if one likes pastels. I always feel very happy and serene when I see its blooms.

Kay - Leonard grows and multiplies very well. Like most everything else, it has a lot less buds than in the two previoius years. Thanks for the shoutout on the Busby seedling. It's an attention getter because of the bright color.

Sherry - I'm glad you like Int. Log. X Sugar Mag. I measured the blooms today, and they are just a smidge less than 8 inches. The lavender purple color is really nice too.

No rain here and temps all week going over 100 (105+ they say on Wed)...........I like your Brown's Ferry Cream Supreme and your white seedling, and of course Sugar Magnolias. I've not seen SM in person, but all the pictures I've seen of it have it the sweetest pink color. It's that pink color that grabs me............From pastels to red, I like your 8" red seedling. I'm not a big fan of daylily red, but the color looks deep and saturated. I have a shortage of reds that can hold up in our heat. I thought I was getting Holly Dancer which looked so good in your line up last year but they ran out. Maybe next year........................Maryl

Maryl - I have a red seedling that is sunfast up to 98 degrees, but Big 8 inch is not it. The sunfast one is this one, an evergreen late bloomer:

I haven't seen Holly Dancer this season. If I knew where it was, I would send it to you. I suspect the grubs ate its roots again. With the lack of rain I have dozens of daylilies that have not scaped this year, or that have scaped and dropped all buds in the heat. We've gotten a lot rain in the last five days, so maybe they will scape very late this year.

Thanks Debra for the offer of Holly Dancer. I already have it on order from a friend/vendor for next season if things work out............. I like your colorfast/sunfast red, but true evergreens are just too iffy for me with my pot system. I have a very small area (like 4 feet square or so) that I try and cram all my Ev's into next to the house over winter. It's not that protected though and I still loose some each year. Dormants seem to survive the best for me. Tis' a pity, but that's the hand I've been dealt if I want to grow daylilies..............I meant to include Promises Kept as one I liked a lot. It's so sweet even if it is a pale pink............Maryl
