Most plants are especially vigorous this year. Those that aren't will receive extra scrutiny, with some for sure exiting. Newly divided plants are not performing well.

A few days of cold nights followed by bright sun pretty much ruined blooms, but the season is moving rapidly.

These are just some on my screen for some reason.

All American Chief

Safe Island. Soft early morning focus, but also a bit lighter from the heat. I like this one a lot, but most find it ho-hum.

Spunky Girls really showed her stuff this year.

Etched Eyes with Green Mystique. EE has looked very good, despite the heat.

Mister Butters has presented one picture moment after another.

Seventy Times Seven. I'm surprised that many don't like this, but some hate anything pastel.

Destined to See --not a great lighting for a pic, but the group was too nice to pass up. How many pictures don't end up deleted because of bad lighting!

Heavenly Dark Matter --big blooms with a greenish cast early. Really makes a statement in the garden.

Painted Demon has not looked that good this year.

Glory to His Name was on a list for exiting, but came on strong.

Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee

Geneva Firetruck has had a mass of blooms.

Rose Masterpiece had such a nice group, but then was hit by sun from early morning on.

Ain't She Nice I find can be difficult to photograph, but this time the lighting was perfect. I like nearly all colors, but many, like Laura, deplore pink.

Since Houzz has been so cooperative, I'll add another Safe Island sitting on my screen, but again, a soft focus from a bit too early (though must have been 10).

What a very nice post, Mantis. Stop the Car is bright and beautiful. Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee makes a beautiful clump with those shades. Painted Demon appears to be a nice large bloom. Spunky Girls looks wonderful. And, Mister Butters is just a clump of sunshine.

So many great photos, thanks for posting, I have been looking forward to seeing a posts from you. To me Aint She Nice is a perfect pink, dont see many with this delicate shade. Mr Butters and All American Chief lit up the screen, sometimes older is better.

How is the foliage on your older cultivars doing?

What a lot of nice daylilies! I always like Get 'R Done. Yours looks a nice clump, mine just 2 fans after several years. All American Chief always seems to look good. That is the best picture of Spunky Girls I have seen. Glory to His Name has always done so well here, can't imagine getting rid of it. I have found myself fond of bright to gaudy daylilies, but still like the cooler colors. Safe Islad looks good to me.

Glory to His Name is gorgeous. It must have just needed some time to get established. I like all the pinks. Laura rarely looks at this forum anymore, so you're cleared for posting as many pinks as possible.

I like that Mr Butters. Great yellow and form. You have several that I once had. Nice seeing pics of the older ones. Rose Masterpiece was a favorite in NY but could have an off year.

Nice clumps on many of these. Great look on All American Chief. Rose Masterpiece is such a pretty color and I agree about Mr. Butters having good color and form. Ain’t She Nice is a great pink although the English major in me cringes at the name!! Beautiful clump and color on Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee.

I would think that Bob (with Nan along for the ride) would put on the breaks if he saw Stop The Car. That is a serious hot colored screamer........Rose Masterpiece and Green Mystique were two of my first daylilies. They are still worthy of note. Rose Masterpiece could sometimes be the first to open in the spring here, beating out even the yellows........Having to downsize my garden every fall, I always ask how many pale pinks can one have. Ain't She Sweet might definitely be a keeper with that form.......Maryl

Foliage here could stand some rain. But we have gotten more rain than the Columbus area, which was over two inches below normal for June and hasn't had any substantial rainfall for three weeks. We had a nice thunderstorm late last week, but evaporation occurs quickly in ninety degrees. Watering is an added chore I am not eager to do. Ain't She Sweet--well, the "ain't" is sometimes used just for emphasis by those who never use it otherwise; e.g., "And let me tell you, she ain't no angel!" (Coming from English professor emeritus.) Rose Masterpiece is quite consistent here.

I was skeptical as to what Stop the Car would look like, but it is indeed a tire screecher.

Spunky Girls and Gimme Gimme Gimme are absolutely gorgeous! Love the colors and the forms.

Lot's of the others are quite pretty as well.
