I was planning in doing white open shelving over the fridge. In designing my kitchen I totally blanked on the over-the-fridge area.

can you move the already open shelving u have to the right of the window and get another cabinet in that space instead? I would not put open shelves above fridge it not usable space and just dust collects.

I mean I can and I totally hear you about the open shelving. I just don’t need anymore space for stuff. I have two huge pantry cabinets that aren’t pictured so space isn’t an issue.

It’s more of an aesthetic issue with the fridge.

We would like to offer you some variants. What do you think about it?

I like them all. I was told exposed light bulbs are unpleasant though.

if you have ample can lighting the pendants would be decorative, in which case you can stay to a low wattage decorative bulb.

What do you mean "unpleasant"? For what exposed light bulbs are unpleasant?

Yes. Exposed light bulbs

can you post a picture looking out from the island? standing at the fridge.

But then you’ll get to see my living room that need a lot of work too!

Any suggestions on window treatments for that little window?

I wouldnt bring any attention to the window. less is more there, you need to focus on the balance of the room.

I don’t really know how to balance the room
