That would be the Poisoned Ivy. Put on some long sleeves and a pair of gloves, find the runner, follow it to the root and just pull it up. Simple as can be. Over and done with. No need to panic.

in other words.. a good clue is the leaves are different on opposing sides .. i cant think of the right term...

Same. Prednisone for days. The worst part are the huge blisters filled with fluid.

For future reference notice that PI has alternately arranged foliage. Your lookalike Acers are opposite.
