I think that's going to look a bit odd. On a 6" rod, those will look like a semi-flush fixture with weird proportions. Maybe look around at oversized semi-flush fixtures, to get something with proportions intended to start close to the ceiing.

Have you seen these lit up I find bare bulbs hard on the eyes and also I like island pendants to work like an addition to light the island for work How big is the fixture and where are you putting it over the island we need a bit more info,

you will end up with "close to ceiling fixture" look so search for that...many styles....here are two different styles which span a circumferance to give you suitable specs for island if you cant just do can ceiling lights. I wouldnt do 3 globes.

We have 8ft ceilings and I wanted modern pendants, not mini.  I found these 11" ones that look close your examples and you can see the mid-range drop in the pictures.  I wanted glass to keep the sightline open as much as possible since the kitchen is not large, but we placed them on a dimmer switch to keep the brightness down when we want.  Good luck!

Do you need pendants at all? I have only recessed lighting in my kitchen (which I didn't design - it was like this when I bought the house) and it is fine. When it comes time to remodel I will skip the pendants - and I have 9' ceilings.
