Nice group of blooms. I really appreciate those daylilies that act like the weather is normal. I am inpressed with the amount of rebloom you get.

I really like Lady Dragon and John Bassilli. I also like Pink Panther Paws.

I hope you get a good rain soon and that those pesky deer stay away.

You are getting some nice rebloom! I'm impressed by the rebloom flowers on Lady Dragon and Larry's Obsesssion. Mandolin, John Bassili and Rich in Mercy stand out to me. I hope the deer stay away and you get some rain soon. I have gotten quite a bit of rain in the last six days, more than May and June put together. I thought the deer would be back for my daylilies since they started feasting so early this year. But so far, so good. I should probably spray again this weekend.

Kate, I really like Larrys Obsession…….is that purple sunfast? Pink Panther Paws really caught my attention, a delicate beauty. You have slot of nice blooms despite the dry weather. I used to fuss about the daylilies I have blooming in what I considered too much shade, hoped for more buds. This season they are the stars of the gardens.

I hope we both get more rain soon, had 5/8” last night and hoping for more this week.

Magenta Wonder is appealing. It will be interesting to see how the Beck cultivars pan out. Lady Dragon I see is a Trimmer, and quite attractive. Do you get increase on your Pierces?

Where my daylilies are not protected by fencing, I have to spray repellent every night.

Nancy, I expected the ”pampered” watered plants to continue blooming but have been amazed at those who are in survival mode that are still blooming.

Sherry, like most purples, Larry’s Obsession fades in this heat. It would probably be great in your partial shade areas!! Glad you got rain.

Debra, since I had no rain I felt my spraying would hold up. Evidently not! I am glad you are getting rain. All the pop ups are ignoring me right now!

Mantis, I was curious about the Becks and decided to try a few. They are all in pots now but are all healthy. And yes, so far, the Pierces have all multiplied adequately although perhaps not as rapidly as others.

Yikes regarding the heat your experiencing. Pretty group on rebloom. Have you seen Reindeer Antlers get to the registered 42"? I like Lady Dragon for its green color on the bloom. I sympathize about the deer and like Mantis I have to constantly spray since I have no fencing around the beds...only the planted trees have fencing. I've seen the deer get up on two hind legs and nibble at some of the leaves on branches along the wooded area. Hope you get some relief from the heat.

Julia, in all my years of seeing deer, I have never seen them do what you describe!! Must be some tasty leaves! I have no fencing either and have a regular spray schedule as well as using the Liquid Fence granules.

Reindeer Antlers is currently under a tree and growing well. It is not registered height but is around 36 inches. which is pretty good considering its garden spot. It is such a sunfast red.

Nice group of blooms in spite of the heat. My favorites are Approaching Storm, Magenta Wonder [though I wonder why they called it magenta, at least on my screen not even close], your clump of Laura H. and Rich in Mercy.

Brad the description of Magenta Wonder has its color as "magenta with ruffled gold chartreuse edge" and the photo of it is truly a magenta color. I am hoping my heat/humidity and the fact that it is in its first year and a pot bloom are sufficient causes for it to be pale!!! I am certainly hoping for "magenta" next year when it is in the ground. (Although it is pretty now, I have several with a similar look!!)

I like the overall look of Magenta Wonder and can only imagine it if it got reasonable summer temperatures. We were at 104 real temp yesterday. Don't want to know the heat index. Yours is bad enough for both of us............I like your dark purples, but I've heard there are troubles with Larry's Obsession on blotching and opening. Any problems for you?....Mandolin is a pretty melon colored one. I'd love to have a deep melon colored sunfast/colorfast daylily with ruffles. I'd also like some rain-lol..................Keep up the good fight against those pesky deer. I like seeing your pictures of daylilies in bloom.....Maryl

You have a ton of them still blooming and reblooming. Of course, the Laura Harwood clump is tremendous! John Basilli looks good. Magenta Wonder is very delicate and pretty., Caberet Cabernet is a toughie isn't it? Explosion looks good but Pink Panther Paws is the one that really impresses me. that one is just beautiful, Kate! Lady's Dragon is always lovely. Sarah Christine is lovely too. That is a beautiful post! I'm glad I saw it.

Sherry, I went back out briefly tonight at 7 to take a photo of Larry’s Obsession after a day with heat index of 112. At least the white edging held up!!

Maryl, Larry’s Obsession was in a bad planting area overrun by Bermuda grass. I moved it two years ago as a spindly barely 2 fan plant. It has loved its new home, multiplied well and come into its own in blooming this year with mostly splotch free blooms that open well. And then has 9 rebloom scapes!!

Look at Tickle Me Elmo and Tangerine Tickles for your melon color. They are very sunfast for me. (Must be the tickle in their name!!)
