Great looking room! Love that rug.

What is your budget? Are you in the US? I‘m wondering if an ottoman might work better in there … or are you needing a table for drinks and such? If so, are you thinking it will be for one of the sofas, or more in the middle of the room? Just wondering how it needs to function.

I don’t have a budget in mind but willing to spend if I find something I like. I’m looking for a table that is functional which would ideally sit between the two sofas. It will be used for drinks and entertainment purposes.

Just to add, the distance between the sofas is approx 267cm

This is one that immediately came to mind, but I don’t know the dimensions you need, so posting as an example.

Or a more modern direction, and bringing texture in:

This one has 14 different options for the top:

A more simple style:

Another idea that would work well for two sofas — nesting tables:

Do any of these styles appeal? Just getting the ball rolling. So many possibilities.

They all look great, am thinking something lighter in colour like white and perhaps squarish or rectangular in shape, would need to at least be 110cm L x 80cm W x 39cm H

This one is a bit taller, but a very cool style:

Hopefully others chime in with more suggestions. Good luck!

Thanks so much Jinx! Love the suggestions and a lot to ponder over 😃

I think you need better layout. Did you try to switch sofa and TV? So sofa is facing the sliding doors ?

I did try that layout but it doesn’t work due to lack of space, the living room is not wide enough

Here’s how it looks in the daytime

Here are the coffee tables I’ve shortlisted. Happy to hear your views 😀

Hi. Something nice about the round one, which reminds me of the soft upholstery. I like that it's low contrast with the rug.

Those are great choices! I like them all much better than my suggestions.

Curious where they’re sold, I’ve never seen them. Be careful of drop-shipping companies.

I agree with everdebz, the round one is my fav, with the third one a close second.

What a beautiful view you have!

Max, I’m concerned about whomever is selling these tables. The round one seemed familiar and I remembered seeing an authentic one on a vintage/antique site. It was $10,000 or more.

It’s the Rio Coffee Table designed by Charlotte Perriand (1962).

Anyway, just a heads-up, I think there are scam sites and drop-shipping sites using the same photo. I used to be in the furniture business, makes me sick to see how many are conned by these internet scammers.

Cassina still sells the design, to the trade:

I’d be wary of anyone else selling new ones. I think the photo you posted is a digital image, as my search showed companies selling it for stock photos.

Jinx, I found theses tables on this website https://hk.cozymatic.com/?shpxid=89cb2b1c-4235-4481-8a6a-e0dfe53ca812

They seem credible but won’t know until I’ve bought them 🫣

Sorry, Max, I would not recommend them:

The good reviews sound fake.

Thanks Jinx for watching out, guess I’ll keep looking 😝

It’s frustrating, I know. I’m so tired of these scammers. They create these websites and use images from other sites. They send defective/low-quality items and do everything possible to deter refunds. Or, don’t send anything, and keep the money. When enough complaints start coming in, they just close shop and open a new one.

Check their sites carefully … they never have a physical address or actual customer service number. Their ”About Us” always sound fake. Their domain registrations are always very new.

Trust Pilot is a great resource. Good luck!

While you are contemplating coffee tables, would you consider moving the furniture around? Neither sofa gives you good viewing of the t v and you also have a lovely view outside to consider.

What if the t v went on the wall where the art is and that sofa replaces the t v/console?

I think it may be difficult to reach the coffee table to set a drink down without getting up. Can you scoot the sofas closer together?

I’ve tried swapping the position of tv and sofa, and also pushing the sofas closer together but it just didn’t work because of the space and having the kitchen door right next to the living room didn’t help at all

I have a hard time focusing on your decor, with those stunning views! Wow. What are your temps this time of year?

Beautiful room, love the rug, and that view oh my!.

That round coffee table also jumped out to me as being perfect.........and then I was impressed and amazed at Jinx's knowledge. I have saved that scam-detector website and trust pilot.

What a shame, but at least you didn't order (and pay) from there!

Yes, Jinx, thanks for the leads. I'm very careful about ordering on-line, but I got scammed Christmas shopping. The good news is PayPal investigated and I got my money back.

Jinx, it’s summer over here, was around 32 deg C today, Hot ! Weather was beautiful, sunny and no clouds

On a separate note, would also like to hear suggestions for a floor lamp or plant next to the dining table sideboard

I’m a lamp fanatic, but in this case I think a plant would look great there — would bring an organic feel in, soften the space, look nice with the background view.

What about a table lamp on the buffet and plant on floor?

Jinx, Great suggestions ! Will do just that !
