Is this a domestic or a wild rose?

Hello. I am new to roses. I wonder if someone could ID this rose for me? I found it growing in the woods today, at the edge of a field, at our cottage. The bush is on a significant slope which is not swampy. The property used to be a farm and was originally settled in the 1870s. I assumed this to be a wild rose, but it has more petals than I have seen in other wild roses. I did not take too close a look at the bush but is was about 3ft tall with thin stems. This was the last flower on the plant, so the colour is likely faded. Location is in rural New Brunswick, Canada, Zone 4b. Thank you for your help.

Look at plena Jackie. It is there in a separate listing. I'll look for a photo.

The blooms are small but adorable.

Hmm, interesting. Thank you Carol! I will have to keep and eye on her and see if she repeats, and take note of the colour of the canes in winter. Whatever she is, she is very tough, and healthy. I am sure she has not been cared for much, if at all, for decades.

I forgot to mention that the blooms are about 2.5".

Look up Rosa Cinnamomea plena. I love mine. There is a Rosa Cinnamomea that is more single too. Very hardy. Grew in Alaska for me and here. It is in HMF roses too.

I got mine from Corn Hill in Canada.

Sheila - all of the photos of Rosa Cinnamomea I could find on HMF which showed blooms were of singles. Can you post one of yours which is the semi-double? The initial color is glorious, fading on the HMF photos to that shown in the OP's pic. I also loved the little white spider!

Hey Sheila, is the picture of the Rosa Cinnamomea you got at Cornhill Nursery? Nice. I have bought things from Bob before. Great nursery.

Yes, this is from Corn Hill. I can't remember where I got my Alaskan one, but it was the same look.
