Can I drill into 50s porcelain cast iron tub?

Hello!

I’m attempting to install a

fixed glass shower panel in this type of bathtub. Its a classic standard mid century porcelain cast iron tub. The glass panel comes witn a fixture that can attach it to the tub, as well as the walls. Can i drill a hole into this? should i? or will ot wreck it?

I would be afraid to. These are touted as trackless.

Sounds risky to me. I would look at the Dreamliner products or talk with a glass door company. I expect it won’t be cheap.

I wouldn't. if you want a fixed panel, attatch it to the wall. there is no good reason to drill into a tub!

No. And a door on a narrow tub is horrible to live with.

@Verbo That isn't a traditional door. It is a bifold that can also pivot in and out of the tub, so it may work well for the OP, especially handy for cleaning.
