2 more started and my favorite butterfly

If it is not raining, it is hot and humid but nothing like the temps what Maryl is experiencing. Had a couple more ffo's. Wish I had gotten out a bit earlier this morning to take photos.

Carolina Sugar Daddy - planted last fall. I love the whitish color and the edging on it.

Tahiti Sweetie - one of two clumps I have is blooming. I divided it last fall and it did not skip a beat. The other planting of it has several scapes also and should open soon.

Repeat of Isle Of Patmos. It has a good showing this morning so naturally I had to take a pic.

I just love Catastrophe Waitress.

and the Zebra Swallowtail butterflies have been constantly visiting the garden. They love the coneflowers and lavender. I haven't been able to catch a pic of the hummingbird yet.

Isle of Patmos looks really good. I have never seen that butterfly in our area, it must like warmer winters; )

A Zebra butterfly! They are rare in my yard but I do see them occasionally. The daylilies are all so pretty I am so glad the ones I sent all bloomed this year. Tahiti Sweetie looks good too and Isle of Patmos is beautiful in a group like that.

I haven't seen a Zebra Swallowtail for at least three years here. In fact, I haven't seen any swallowtails this year. All the daylilies look pretty. I think Isle of Patmos is my favorite since it has a nice group of blooms.

Love the butterfly. Swallowtails have been here but not any Zebras. Tahiti Sweetie looks good and Isle of Patmos is always pretty. I like the coneflowers. They look like they are blooming well.

Dill plants are supposed to be a favored plant of the Swallowtails. I planted two this spring, but after it turned hot and they turned horribly ratty looking I pulled them. About a week later a couple of black swallowtails showed up. Figures.........Like your Isle of Patmos, and again I am taken with Catastrophe Waitress. Both are pretty ones.........Maryl

Thanks for the comments. I've never had Zebra Swallowtails in NY so this is a treat for me to see them. I first saw them last year here. Not too many of the other varieties.

I only have 1 new to the garden daylily left that hasn't bloomed.

I've sprayed the garden again last night since the deer have their fawns running around like dogs in the yard. I need to go and look at the tree a deer keeps chewing the leaves on. Stands up on hind legs to reach the branches. Craziest thing.

Bad news on my garden tractor. It needs a new motor so won't be back for at least 2 weeks. Not an expense we wanted to have.

I have seen one or 2 of the zebra swallowtail. Did not know the name, just knew they were different from my usual. Tahiti Sweetie always grabs me. 1st time it bloomed, it was off a bit, I guess it was new. I regretted it briefly. I can't imagine being without it now.
