Your photo of Shelby is so pretty! Glad to see Autumn Wood. A random act of violence by voles got mine a couple of years ago. I always liked the color.

I always enjoy seeing Shelby, sad it is the last bloom.

Shelby is such a pretty bloom. El Desperado looks good. It is such a bloomer. Autumn Wood is always so pretty. Crintonic Rain Dances is lovely and a clump of Insider Trading looks very nice.

Rain Dance blooms have shot above the foliage this year here. Autumn Wood is hardly recognizable compared with blooms here. Didn't Kay just eliminate El Desperado? Hard to do since it blooms so well. Trading was a bust here; tender.

Back in the day I had a choice between Smokey Mountain Autumn and Autumn Wood. I took SMA, but I think Autumn Wood would have also been a nice addition too. It is a pretty thing for you........Insider Trading is one you like a lot isn't it? It's a good looking red. Do you still have August Cherry?..................You saw how my Indian Ripple did under my post. Lots of buds to go. I hope it adapts and looks more like yours...........Maryl

Shelby always gets my attention. El Desperado is such a good plant, makes a big show. I have always liked the look of Indian Ripple. I got it a couple of years ago, it bloomed something else. The seller replaced it, not looking good now. Insider Trading has had a good year for me, just had its last bloom though.

Thanks for all the shout outs about Shelby. It's growing in far too much shade now and does not perform like it used to. I'd love to find a better place to plant it, along with Trance and Sugar Magnolia. Maybe after I move some plants out, I can move them in the fall.

Nancy and Maryl - My Indian Ripple has lost fans the past two years because of the grubs eating it. The scapes are very short this time.

Mantis - I'm sorry Insider Trading didn't make it for you. It grew well for Dick in Ohio.

Maryl - I do like Insider Trading a lot. It hasn't performed well for about three years because the clump was decimated by green Junebug grubs. It's recovering now, and probably would have done a lot better if it had got some rain this Spring. I only watered that front bed twice, and everything in it performed poorly except for Porterhouse and Empire of Desire. I do still have August Cherry, but it's in too much shade now and only has two scapes with about 3 buds each. No pictures of it this year. Most of the lates blooming now look like your photo of Indian Ripple - terribly pale and washed out.

No, no, Mantis. El Desperado just finished blooming, not eliminated. ....and now has sent up a rebloom scape here. It is quite a bloomer.
