Will this Yarrow be ok next year?

I bought some yarrow plants from big box store this year. This one was very tall when planted. It was watered with the others. We had quite heavy rain in a couple of days, and this plants stems and flower heads just bent in half. Out of necessity, I had to prune it back. But now it has a lot of brown leaves. Will it come back next spring? I am new growing this.

Yes Debra it should be fine. They generally like to grow on the drier side but you can't help the rain, plus it is new to your garden and does need some watering to get it settled in and established. Is it in full sun? They appreciate a sunny site.

Prune it back to a couple of inches above the ground and let it develop new basal growth.

Peren, it is in a sunny site, late morning to early evening along the fence there. Will have more sun next year as we are removing the large box elder at the back of our lot. It is definitely rotting…….could come down anytime unfortunately. Would most likely fall on neighbors’ garage and yard, but neither one of us wants that.
