FRIDAY'S BLOOMS from Upstate NY

The grass continues to get more brown by the day, except by the daylily gardens and by the road. Somehow the weeds continue to be green. It has been a challenging year getting photos as I don't remember a summer being this sunny. The Southern Tier of NY ranks up there are one of the more cloudy areas.

PINK TARANTULA : I can't wait until it gets established.

Susquahanna Great Balls Of Fire: Planted last fall. The colors are vibrant and rich in person.

FOREST GOD: I've had it for about a year.

If the visitors are keen on flowers they should be impressed. Such a nice batch of daylilies you have here. Forest god looks so pretty. The subtle poly colors would probably not be as evident after a day of our triple digit heat, but the form and petal texture might still be lovely........... I like the way you show the variation in Pinewood Holy Smoke. It's striking in all 3 pictures...........Maryl

Here was the star of the garden on Friday: PINEWOOD HOLY SMOKE: I love the clean and crispness of the colors.

Here is my seedling which will get moved from the seedling bed and planted in better location for observation.

BEAUTY IN MOTION clump

HEMAN: Thought it did not make it after I really divided it for sales last year.

BIG HEARTED MOTHER being back lite by the morning sun.

CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS: New last fall. Here it is with some sun and then shaded at 5:00pm. Not very tall (12"). I am hoping for increased height once it gets established.

I hope to spend more time in the garden today. I have a couple of visitors coming today to tour the garden.

I had missed this one...I am so glad Pink Tarantula is blooming for you David, and that is a lovely bloom. Pinewood Holy Smoke is a lovely color.bi-tone. Beauty in Motion is such a huge bloom and that is a nice clump. I really like mine from our swap. Crying in the Wilderness is another very pretty one. And your seedling is a delicate beauty. Nice post, David.

Pinewood Holy Smoke caught my eye too! I like your seedling, looks like a keeper. Forest God is new in my garden to…….it has done well in a short time.

Lots of interesting ones. I like the colors on Forest God. Pinewood Holy Kiss is exciting. Crying in the Wilderness stays short here. Susquehanna Great Balls is vivid, though I notice it is a four-inch flower. I see Heman being used a lot in hybridizing.
