Photo is too indistinct for me to ID. But spraying on a sunny day with undiluted table vinegar should do the trick, although it may take several applications.

btw, once RoundUp is dry, it is perfectly safe around pets.

Whatever it is, pouring boiling water on it should kill it. Or zap it with a string trimmer. Spackling the cracks should help until the crack opens up again.

When mowing, aim away from the paved area to prevent seeds from being slung onto the pavement.

Gardengal, thanks for that info on roundup. I did not know that. Someone once told me that using a small brush of roundup to paint the under side of leaves works. That would be great for a dock plant if it works. This plant, leaves are too small.

Sure, if curiosity remains. If you just want it dead, it doesn't matter much what it is.

Boiling water works very well and is completely non-toxic, but make sure to be protected from splashes - esp. feet and lower legs.

i fill this with undiluted RU ... and just put a few drops on any plant i want to kill..

with your crack plant.. i would sweep it to one side.. and find the crown of the plant.. and treat it right there... by the nest day it will seem off color.. and by the 3rd day yellowing.. if you did it enough ..

i have kept this for years .. in the garage and the RU remains useful ...

i suppose you could also fill it with vinegar.. and see if that works ... go figure ...

its bright yellow.. you cant possibly lose it... if half full.. when it tips over.. it barely leaks ... and it closes for storage... just dont store near hot dogs ...
