sleek simple design in brushed nickel or the dark bronze will be beautiful. Be careful in matching the size of the pulls. Our 1970s pulls are an odd size which means most modern pulls will require spackling holes and drilling others. Take a pull with you to shop. Some designs might cover the original hole.

They may say 1980s, but those arched doors are quality wood work. Just update pulls and the other colors in tile and countertops.

Also remember if you switch to nickel you will need to update hinges too. I think the antique brass would blend with the wood and oil rubbed bronze handles.

It's always smart to get the new design figured out. While changing the hardware seems easy and a small investment figure out the price and make sure the new hardware can be used on the newcabinets. Do the math and any color goes with oak cabinets. Good Luck

Kerri, we have oak cabinets with stainless appliances. The hardware was really outdated when we bought the house (white knobs with a floral design🥴). Changing to brushed nickel hardware made such a difference.

Painting over that border tile with white acrylic paint would really help too.

I like brushed stainless steel hardware. I use knobs everywhere, for doors and drawers.

And I would paint over the dated tile border with white acrylic paint. it will make a huge difference.

I think a pull with straight lines won't look right with your cabinet door style. You need something with a curve in it.

Just my opinion, but i think those handles are pretty neutral in style.

Oil rubbed bronze or black. You can find many styles in lots of 10, even 20 pieces for great prices on Overstock, Wayfair and Amazon. Check the distance between the existing holes first. Darker will look better on that wood.

I agree with painting the backsplash tiles.
