Pineapple Upside Down Cake

It is new to me this year. I wonder if this greening up of the leaf is normal or if it needs more sun or if something else is going on. I did do an HXV test on part of a leaf and the test came up inclusive. I ordered this from reputable vendor I have used before.

Mine did that sometimes depending on how much light it got. It always came up green to start. The middle is fading to yellow and the outer edge will remain. Those veins are light and not bleeding. That green "stuff" between the veins will fade. Patience.

It doesn't exactly look like HVX. ken says don't try to diagnose it in the late summer.

I would fertilize it, which might very well be the problem. (I have one that looks kind of weird like that and that's what I intend to do.)

If it still looks like that in the spring, then it's HVX.

though.. to be fair.. thats what i would have said before chris took over the chairmanship ... before he abandoned us ... rat fink ...

library says its supposed to have pauls glory like coloration ... yours doesnt seem to..

which then means.. to me.. its probably not PUDC .... so who knows what is proper

Two thoughts: 1. mine does the same thing, 2. needs a bit more sun, maybe the spot Designer Genes is soon going to vacate?

I read somewhere about how this can happen in young plants when they don't have enough of a root system to take up sufficient nutrients. Adding fertilizer might not help, but giving it time might.

It has the slight green edge. I would guess it's PUD. Look at the photos in the HL. If it had more sun to fade the centers and had enough nutrients, it could very well look like the PUD in the HL.

Looks like PUDC to me. I'd give it another year before doing anything unless you want to move it in DGs place. More sun would help, but it really doesn't need much to brighten up the centers.
