Late bloomers on Wednesday

Not much is blooming except for the late bloomers. We do have some rebloom, which surprises me because of the lack of rain. It's probably thanks to Bob's watering. It is raining now. I hope we get an inch or so.

You know it's late season when Sandra Elizabeth makes an appearance.

Sun Temple Spirit, another late bloomer, has a nice lemon yellow color. I like lemon yellow better than gold.

Impassioned is a mid-late bloomer.

Hell on Heels is another mid-late.

I have been enjoying some of Bret Clement's ufs. Here is It Stops at Garage Sales.

This is Bret Clement's Two and a Half Cats.

We didn't get many photos of seedlings today. It was very hot with such high humidity it was uncomfortable to be outside much. Here are the few we got.

These are siblings--Little Donny Darko X Lovin' up a Storm. It's interesting that the first one has the shape of the pollen parent and the second one has the shape of the pod parent.

This is actually our daughter's seedling. It is Shirley Koch X TrueNorth Shy Fox. The bloom is quite large.

That's all today. If it's not raining in the morning, the flowers should look good after tonight's rain.

I know a lot of growers aren't overly fond of yellow. But what shade of yellow I ask? So many to choose from. I like both of yours........I also like your Donny Darko seedling. The pinched petals can be attractive to me some times even though I'm about settled on growing mostly the full figured gals in my garden................Maryl

So uncomfortable here, and daylily colors are definitely faded. Impassioned earlier was quite vivid, but less so now. We too are scheduled to get some rain, which is fortunate. August can be quite dry. The lawns are showing the stress of the heat and recent dryness, but in general, it has been a wet year.

Your Sun Temple Spirit looks so different than mine. The one I have that came as Sun Temple Spirit is lighter in color than yours and has a greenish cast. Does yours ever show a greenish cast? I don't think mine looks much like photos in the Database either. I think my favorite today is your daughter's seedling. The color is so pretty!

Nancy, My favorite of these is your seedling, the first one of Little Donny Darko X Lovin' up a Storm. I also really like your daughter's Shirley Koch X TrueNorth Shy Fox. Of the regular ones, I like Stops at Garage Sales the best, followed by 2 and a half cats.

Love Two and a Half Cats. I also prefer a lemon yellow over gold any day. I got Sun Temple Spirit, it must have died, I can't even remember where it was. I like the 2nd sibling and your daughter's cross.

I really like the first Little Donny Darko X Lovin' up a Storm seedling, aaaaand the second is also pretty. Your daughter's seedling is a lovely delicate appearing one.

I like yellows and so I really like those two. The seedlings look good and I do like the pale pink color on your daughter’s seedling.
