It would look fine.

Make sure there isn't a stud in that exact position before you call the electrician.

My reasons for not doing it:

- Not enough light. You should have a couple of light sources in a bathroom with dimmers.

- Exposed bulb at eye level isn't that pleasant.

Maybe it is just me! I've added lighting to every bathroom I've remodeled or built Sometimes you want it soft and dim and other times you want it lit up like an operating room!

Thank you again-I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Good point i hadn’t considered about the bulbs being around eye level not being pleasant. We prefer softer lighting in this bathroom since we’re using other rooms for makeup, shaving, etc. but no matter how soft, it could still potentially be harsh.

Do you love those mirrors? for me, the single sconce wouldnt work, your face will only be well lit on one side, even if theres general overhead lighting in the BR. I would replace the mirrors with ones with lighting built in, probably 2 rectangular.

If this is your guest bathroom and it's not used much I guess you could have one fixture between the mirrors if you also have an overhead light, but the one you're showing would definitely be glaring. You need a frosted shade there. The style of the fixture is also too contemporary for the style of vanity you have. Agreed with the above - one lighting fixture above each mirror! One light, one mirror, one sink. It'll allow for more symmetry and would look more pleasing to the eye.

One side of your face will be lit and the other side will be in the dark.

Select a light mounted over the mirrors. Could be one that extends over both mirrors or one over each mirror

Far from enough light. The rough electrical should have been planned and done before all of that finish material got in the way.

I would rethink the clear glass, too. Does this come in a white glass option?

The clear glass will be glary, even though you dont need task light, that looks to be a pretty dark space, and perhaps looks like someone gets ready in here, so maybe consider frosted glass.

This would be my choice, over each mirror.

Room has different styles already, so it might be ideal if sconce metal matches the mirror - is this like the mirror? turned upside down though... ?
