It's surprising you are getting so much nice rebloom with so little rain. While it was very dry here in May and June, in July we had rain every week, even if some weeks it was only a trace. This is the least rebloom I've had in many years. My foliage looks pretty ratty too.

What a rebloomer Blushing Escapade is! I really like that one! Holy Water looks fabulous, as does Memphis in both photos. Your other flowers are colorful and bright!

Debra, I have always had lots of rebloom but have been shocked at the amount this year considering how little moisture is in the ground. Other than potted plants and new plants, my gardens get no additional watering. I cannot tell you how many times the weather radar showed the ”parting of the Red Sea” with rain clouds going above and below me!!

Memphis looks great. Purple Passion's Promise is out of Jerry Hyatt, and for some reason, Jerry Hyatt and its kids are all short this year. Among the few cultivars here that aren't exuberant this year. Marigolds and rudbeckia--iron-cast plants.

I will second Mantis' comment regarding MEMPHIS. It really looks good. I may have to take a chance and add it to my garden.

Mantis - It is interesting that you mentioned that JERRY HYATT is short this year, as it is also short this year in my garden. Several have been shorter this year and others have been taller than usual. It is a reminder that I am not in charge and that I need to just enjoy whatever comes my way.

Such nice rebloom Kate! Speaking about ratty foliage…….on a recent post of mine it was mentioned how nice the foliage is on my daylilies. I just realized that the daylilies that have afternoon sun are the ones with ratty foliage. No ratty foliage with afternoon shade.

Wow, no rain? Interesting comparison on what happens on a 112 heat index day. You certainly have some nice blooms yet.

Daylilies: some of them can really surprise you with how well they cope. Memphis has beautiful form.....One of the reasons I use colorfast/sunfast is because to my understanding a daylily can be colorfast but loose substance and vice versa. Using both words covers all the bases for me if I want to give a glowing report on a daylily. I appreciate you Kate remembering my interest in one of yours.......I also like it when you post your other plants now that daylily season is winding down. I think your Zinnias may be part of the Profusion series and it's good to see them in someones garden. Did you start yours from seed?.....................Maryl

Mantis, PPP was regular height this year but blooms were much smaller-it blooms late for me and got caught in the dry//heat weather mode.

David, Memphis always looks good. It was languishing in a shady spot and I moved it last year. It has flourished in the new area.

Sherry-most of my plantings are in full sun so ratty folisge is the norm now!!

Julia, yes,, very little rain in two months. The poor farmers around us are suffering. The cattle farmer/rancher who rents our land for hay reports half as many hay bales in two cuttings.

Maryl, I must find my tags for the zinnias. I absolutely love them!! iI have red ones too. They have been fabulous non stop bloomers. I got them at my favorite nursery. I wonder if they will seed-so far they are just shedding blooms.

Both Memphis and Blushing Escapade hold their color and substance but fade in extreme heat.

They look good Kate! So glad you get rebloom. Strangely I don't get much. I had 3 on instant rebloom this year, one last year, etc. But I have the VTs to make up for it thanks to Celeste.

They look like Zahara zinnias. Could be profusion too, but Zaharas are a tighter mound.

Kate: Nice Red Zinnias. I'm starting to grow my own Zinnias from seed again since the diversity of stock carried by local nurseries has shrunk so much. If you find a Tag on yours, I would like the information if you can send it on. I've never grown the Zahara Zinnias, so can't comment on if they are that or not.............Maryl

I like those zinnias too. I bought seed this spring and never planted them. You have lots of nice rebloom, I think Memphis is my favorite. Speaking of Jerry Hyatt, mine was shorter this year too and nove many blooms. The blooms it had were especially good.

Rebloom surely is happening in the heat. Purple Passion’s Promise may be smaller and paler but still very pretty. Blushing Escapade is putting on a real show. You surely can;t complain about Memphis! Nice looks too as well as great blooming. I always love Jellyroll Morton (got a little Ptolif this time on it) and, Windyhills Designer Red is red, so I always like to see it. Nice reblooms,

Forgot to comment on the actual blooms. I like Blushing Escapade and Jellyroll Morton the best of these.
