I've learned my lesson not to walk around in the yard in flip-flops. Got attacked twice, bites all over my feet and up my legs.

Now, when going out to water or check my plants, socks and sneakers no matter the temperature. They are nasty buggers.

Some people actually have sever problems with ant bits. Fire Ants are know to cause problems.

Many years ago my daughter was working in our flower bed and got bitten by ants. She started swelling up and we spent the afternoon in the Doctor's office.

For me I always wear enclosed shoes, and plenty of bug repellent. There are tick and many other biting insects in the yard. You may have a reaction to any one. Rocky Mount Spotted fever is no jfun.
