And this beast of a dappled willow...I’ve pruned it many times to keep it in check, ...it’s getting there slowly. Excuse the ugly grass.

Lovely! Just lovely! It's all looks so planned and thought out, as opposed to my "plopped" beds. Love the way you use color and texture - even without a lot of blooms it has so much interest. It also is so well-maintained. My poor garden is always so neglected, even though I spend most of my free time out there (i.e I don't have enough free time lol!)

Love, love, love the willow! I believe I told you once I had a dappled willow in tree-form in a huge pot but before I could decide where to plant it, it didn't make it. That pot just needed too much watering. (It was also very top-heavy and fell over a lot and once trapped me in my car during a thunderstorm lol but that's another story!). But I planted two of them in a garden I maintain that is very swampy and they do wonderfully there, free to grow as big as they want. Part of a huge oak tree fell on one of them and it recovered and went on to keep on growing. Did you buy your willow in tree-form or did you train it yourself? It's really wonderful!

Simply gorgeous, I would walk your garden any time! You know I have great appreciation for your sense of style with plant pairings and the overall effect that brings. What a treat!

Can I send you a plane ticket that you come and design my gardens! Honestly, when viewing your photos, I better understand what's lacking in mine, in particular the use and placement of evergreens, the bones that anchor it all!

Had really liked this area, it's what one first sets eyes upon as the corner of the house is rounded to enter the back yard .... BUT, I had wanted to reduce the number and size of beds and went and removed a substantial portion of it all .... what a MISTAKE that so had changed its feel and dynamics! Now, well, for the most part am attempting to replicate the look and flow, what evergreens have remained are becoming nice and bulky now.

So pretty and relaxing! Wish I had that space here!

Lovely! I really like your use of yellow foliage, and the color of the hibiscus is gorgeous -- what is the cultivar?

I usually have renewed appreciation of my beds when I go out to view after dark -- I see them differently than I do during the day, different aspects are brought to the forefront or recede to the background under night's light. Especially a brightly moonlit night.

GardenHo, here's 'Blackhawks', I should have attempted photos in different lighting that it better show off, really is a very nice grass enough so I had purchased another on discount.

Just picked up Panicum 'Prairie Flame', seems to color up better than 'Prairie Fire'

Ornamental grasses offer the color, habit and sweeping motion of few other plants. BUT, always in the past I neglected to seek out the taller kinds, of late though more intensely colored selections and those of unique habit have really caught my eye and I'm a bit hooked! :)

Dee thank you...I’ve always been a plopper too! I’ve been working on all of my ’plops’ these last few years and I’m slowly getting there...

.... and yes you told me about your poor willow. I would have been so bummed. Did you not have any space for it? I can only assume not : ( I bought mine as a standard and it happened to be mis marked. When I saw it ring up...I literally had to calm my heart lol. It was only $11.99! After seeing them elsewhere for $175.00, I felt like I hit the Jackpot!! It’s already due for another trim : / It’s definitely going to keep me busy for a bit yet lol. Here it is in 2020...its first spring (bought hot summer 2019) My how its grown!

MX, I’ve had that hibiscus for years and I wish I could remember. Luna series came to mind, but after searching Google to see if I could find it for you and having no luck....I have to doubt that is even right sorry. And yes I agree, moonlit views can be quite unique!

FB please lol. Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous! But I’d still love to come and see them up close and personal : ) I love your circle bed... just beautiful. I remember seeing it in past and I’m so glad you shared it again, thanks. I could see a couple comfy lounge chairs with table for some iced beverages/coffee...love my coffee : ) Also grandchildren...frolicking around it (well behaved of course lol)...its just so peaceful... Love it! Oh and I do love those grasses too!

Lastly... sorry for such a delay, stressful times and hours at work. But thank you all, I really appreciate your kind responses!

Hey @GardenHo_MI_Z5, I dont want to brag....again ;) but I have seen @FrozeBudd_z3/4 gardens in person! As you and others know his gardens are absolutely stunning. Visiting FB on his home turf was mostly certainly a highlight for me.

Rouge's family visit was a nice highlight of that particular summer and I was pleased for the gardens then showing well :) ... I've been looking at old photos and realize how the gardens appeared more cohesive and eye pleasing back then. Some areas have now become overly densely planted that apparently I'm failing miserably with my attempt of English style planting, time for some digging and replanting!

I know exactly what you're saying about looking back. I’ve done the same and thought what have I done? it looked so much better before I added xyz...

Reminds me, I moved/divided a bunch of Culvers root (which about killed me as they are beasts to div) from my back yard to my front slope. Didnt end up liking it at all...sigh. Not to mention they are thirstier than i knew, and being on the dry slope was just not a good thing. Who knew?...I never had to give them supplemental water in the back.

So back out they will go ugh...but the challenge will be...trying to find places to put them because of course I’ve already planted in their previous spots...plus I have many more!
