Decorating ideas for oddly designed ledge

We have this odd ledge overlooking our stairs that we have always left empty. It is about 3ft wide and 20ft long. We want to make it look somewhat appealing instead of just a blank space.. any ideas?

3 years agoI like the idea of hanging art, too. This piece is only 5 ft wide so might look pretty skimpy up there. If that wall is at least ten feet wide, I might hang two side by side, or invest in mural wallpaper to cover the entire space.
