Too many curtains???

Just finished painting SW silver strand in this spare bedroom. Love it. I want to put the bed on this single window. It is off center. So I thought about covering the whole wall with curtains. But the. Is the room overwhelmed with curtains because I would then have to dress the second large window as well.

you want to put the bed on the single window wall? why? what's wrong w/its current spot?

I would put something tall like a plant in the left corner (small window) and a chair or chest to the right

a headboard covering a portion of that window looks silly when it doesn't have to go there.

I need a place to put furniture. That solid wall is the only place to put something. Plus I like when you walk in and see the bed in front of you. On the aside walk it’s off to your left.

    Something like this.

But that is a small room with no other possiblity.

you have another option, they didn't.

however, if that is the look you want, then I guess you could do that, but on the other window maybe go for a roman shade or cellular blind.

depends on the drapery you want to use too. if going heavy behind the bed, then I agree going heavy on the bigger window would be too much.

i'd do your headboard on the other wall, those curtains on large window, and blind on small window

Note that in your inspiration photo, that the drapes are very close to the wall color. If you use a plain drapery close to your wall color, I think you could get away with it.

You could also do the disguising window treatment behind the bed but do a matching stationary panel on the larger window, with a blind. That way they would be coordinated treatments but not quite so full.

You may need to find the drapery First, and then paint the walls to match/coordinate. When I have done things like this on a modest budget, I have found the drapery first, since the options will be more limited, and then picked the paint color. I have been able to do this even with basic panels from Penney's or Vermont Country Store/Country Curtains.

This is guest room ? There is no need for tons of furniture in a guest room and IMO you choose the bedding you love then the wall color then the drapes . I do agree if the drapes are going on that whole wall then I would now look for drapes the same color or at least close .

How would you open the window with the bed in front of it? You have perfect air circulation with windows on two walls.

Furniture would be what? Two night stands and a dresser? It seems a wee more private for guests to leave the bed where you have it.

I wanted to out this chest on the long wall with a TV on it. Then add nightstands. That’s it. But if I don’t have that wall free for furniture there is no space for any pieces bigger than a nightstand on the walls between the closet and the windows. (Drawing not to scale)

Just treat the off side window with a window treatment. It will make a lovely accent area for the bed. No need to do the side windows.

Install rod wall to wall. Buy three panels. One goes on the smaller wall, two on the larger wall.

I think you can also achieve balance leaving the window exposed:

I get it and agree with the idea of using a wall of drapes on the small window wall and then matching decorate side panels with a shade on the big window. Check TWOPAGES on amazon. They have really reasonable large pinch peat panels in many colors. You can do a whole wall really reasonably. Also, I would put a top down/bottom up blackout cellular shade on the small wndow so that you can make the wall look solid when you want.

I would keep the bed on the solid wall and skip the tv… still love the idea of drapes but I don’t love the bed in front of a window.

When did the ‘bed has to be straight ahead’ idea start? Like people won’t know it’s a bedroom if they don’t see the bed in the first millisecond? I have three bedrooms, primary has the headboard on the entrance wall so the entrance door and headboard face a view, one guest room you can’t see the bed at all because it’s in a recess, and in the main guest room you walk into the side of the bed. I’ve slept fine in all three bedrooms.

If is was a guest in your house I would want to wake up and see the lovely view out the window and not the closet.

Keeping the bed where it currently is, will the chest fit to right of single window? Very nice to see the pretty chest when entering.

    Exactly as @Alice is describing.

How wide is the bed, how wide is the wall you want to put the bed on and how off center is the window?

It's possible you could center the bed under the window rather than on the wall and leave a bit of breathing room then for the chest of doors you want to place under the window.
