Design Direction: MASTER BEDROOM WALL PAPER TOO YELLOW?

last modified: 4 years ago

Working with a nice lady who helped me chose a grass cloth.

I was hesitant but have lots of navy & soft Greens and golds in the other room

Modern designs with whites and soft aquas. I really said I will be open minded.

Installed today: https://www.burkedecor.com/collections/metallic-wallpaper/products/natural-weave-wallpaper-in-wheat-and-silver-from-the-elemental-collection-by-burke-decor

Here is the picture of my current room. I am not loving it and do not want to prounciate

the yellow. I would love it to disapear in the backdrop.

What are my options.

Thank you for any input. I purchase Uttermost lights and the shades do have a warmer look

it bothered me in the beginning but thought they would tone down with wallpaper and instead

I actually do not like the way the yellow came out. Its loses the pattern of the silver . You do not see it and the seams show up alot. I am so disapointed and the lady that is helping me wants me to

order a yellow gold rug . I just stopped. I am frozen with why keep going when I do not like it where the yellow is taking over the room

South west exposure.

Please help with any suggestions on how to downplay the yellow.

Other colors I can use . I have 2 beautiful pillows which are cloud nine and the woman tryed

to use those in the room because I had them and they cost so much.

Thank you for all input

Sorry but that wall paer does not work with anything in the space is the bottom pic a close up of the wallpaper? Ilove those pillows maybe a darker tone of the purple would help for the bedding. Then the same tone for drapes .If it was my wall I would wait 2 weeks for the wallpepr to dry properly and then I would apint it or right now I would remove it and please do not use that lady again. I must say I do not seeany of the colors like white and aqua in anything in the space . Take the plastic off the shades and get LED 4000K bulbs to tone down the yellow. I usually use the bedding to start a color scheme in a bedroom so why did you choose a wallpaper that was yellow if you wanted whites and aqua. Tell the nice lady thank you I can do the rest myself .To me the night tables are not a good fit with the lamps or the bed what is the color of that trim on those > I see a lot of gray and silver so maybe now fly with a differnt color palette , I do love thos pillows so maybe like I mentioned use shades of mauve and silver and gray could be quite lovely and then when ready to paint that wall just a shade of mauve so pale almost white it will need 2 coats of primer then the paint it will add a lot of texture to the wall so not all bad. Then some nice plae gray frapes and some gray piloows along with thos eother ones .

Thank you Patricia I let her talk me into it. I found out after when I bought it . I was sad to see the man hand her a check. I payed 1400.00 to buy and to tear down the next day. I hated it. I am so so mad that I let her convince me it was going to be as she said"DREAMY". It was dreamy but my dreams were night mares. Please help me now start fresh. I orderd that bed because I sold my house in hamptons and wanted my old bedroom set . In that beach house it was gorgeous. Here 5 years later and special order it is very cheap version and I cannot change . My husband wants to keep it. I agree I didnt want the night stands husband wanted nightstand.s If I did anything It would be to paint over the grey inside with shabby paints. But lets move forward. Now that I tore it down. I have a blank canvas. I feel like a fool to trust her decorator;s advice and go against my gut feeling yellow was always wrong. Here are my related spaces right from the living room you can see this and the yellow was garrish and it looked like baby diaper gold. lol MY whole original theme was to do an amazing wallpaper that made you go wow! I still can because they took off the wallpaper and it is preppred now for wall paper or I have to prep for paint (more costly but I can go that way)

My condo on the beach I forget to mention it was california king and I orderd just king and it looks so little kids and this looked gorgeous in my beach home.

Are you set on keeping the lamps? The shades worked well with the old wallpaper and floor. Just wondering if they can be changed. I would find a wallpaper to match the surrounding walls. Will try to find options but will be hard to match without seeing in your room with your furnishings. Here are some paints to give you an idea on general color to look for:

My previous unit I had this same bedroom set but I didnt realize it was california king and the new one is just king. I did painted the walls Benjamin Pale Oak and purchased Nicole Miller Pillows and homegoods accent drapes and had them shortened custom and found my duvet color all in soft blues with pop blues .

I would like the links to paint colors if possible. I also would love a beautiful stunning wow wall paper and I can decorate around it. I am keeping lamps and bed . I have no bedding and can use my blue pillows or start new.

Thank you for all of your suggestions and help
