of hoopla was going on. Started in the Garden Center Chat talking about our flowers,

gardens,etc. Then was invited to the Chat Room at that time. Before Houzz, actually.

I've been off and on for over 20 years. I was Cleo199 when it started. Now this..... I don't post often like I did when I first started here. It's a whole different vibe here now. Not the *fun* place it used to be where I would burst out laughing at some of the posts and I spent hours here every day. Now I check in a couple times a week. Most days I stay quiet and just scroll.

Lars, I can't imagine anyone not welcoming you to this forum, and I'm sorry you felt rejected.

I used to post regularly at the former Hot Topics forum, until it became so toxic that it was cancelled by Houzz. I note some familiar names here from that group, so that is a good thing. I think this forum is very welcoming.

Woodrose, I came back to say the same thing. When I first approached the KT there was a member who asked me to introduce myself. The way was written, I found it a bit quirky.

I just ignored it.

Lars, yours is just one example of why we can't allow a few rotten apples spoil this community.

Welcome back! I’ve been around since 1999. I too miss some of the hilarious threads and pictures from the getogethers and the trips to the teacups when things got out of hand. I even paid for a membership for a year or two.

I too have been here since the 1990s off-and-on. I remember when posters were sent for ”a ride in the teacups” by Spike the moderator when they crossed a certain line in the sand. Similar to what is called Facebook Jail now.

I don’t recall what my name was then but probably was very similar to what it is now.

I think I've been here since 2000 and have always been lily named after a cat at the time. I started on the kitchen forum because I was doing a kitchen reno at the time. Then I came here but mostly was on Hot Topics until Houzz canned that a few years ago. I miss that forum but it got too nasty.

I remember you ikat. I started in late 98 or early 99.

I think I added a couple of letters to my online name but that's about it.

Yes I was always living in fear of Spike and those teacups. Someone kindly paid for my membership. I thank them profusely as I was ready to throw in the towel at that time.

I always feel that my contributions are very small and that I cannot equal the smarts here. I continue to come back because regardless of how I feel which is of my own doing I belong here if I think I belong here. At least that's what I convince myself of every time I want to turn tail and run. I don't do much better in real life so what the heck :-).
