IMO I would also just tile the range side wall. But if you really like to do it. I suggest you align in on the countertop

Not the red square, not the black square. If it were me, I’d just do the range wall. if you want something on the window wall, maybe just a low 4-6” border over the countertop on that wall, that would leave a gap of paint below the window. You will need some edging, and a way to terminate the side on the range wall. Small pencils make great edging. Not sure how I would edge the side wall.

Perhaps try tiling the area under the window, maybe even that whole wall from the countertop to the top of the wall and stopping where the door frame starts. Then tile above the countertop and range and under the hood. If going all the way to the top of the wall on the window side, then we might suggest going all the way to the top of the wall above the hood too.
