I saw your other post and love this room (high ceilings and all-sorry, Patricia)! What about light woven or rattan stools that pick up the color of your dining set? Something with a lot of texture would create that additional warmth you are seeking. Please post pics of your finished room. It’s a great space!

I did see some rattan stools I thought might work. I do agree that the stools intrude upon the space. Interesting idea to make the counter all one height…I guess it is that way to hide the kitchen when messy. I wonder if the protruding part could be eliminated.

Patricia, you did in fact ponder out loud about why anyone would build something with 10 ft ceilings. You love to preface your comments with a negative statement about why you don’t like something, particularly something structural that can’t be changed. When you get called out, you back pedal. Rinse and repeat. Do you have any actual paying clients or do you just pick people apart on Houzz all day?

Something light and airy (but with a back to take up vertical space) would look great!

Lisa, if you read Patricia’s posts, they are anything but kind. And following an insult with “IMO” doesn’t excuse her abrasive commentary. She deserves to be called out.

The orange stools might work better if you added more orange around the room. Perhaps get orange pillows, or pillows with orange in them. Also perhaps look at getting window treatments with grey/orange and depending on how your kitchen looks at a tea pot and other decor items that are orange. Notice here in our design below the plants in the kitchen, wooden bowl, and all of the blue items in the living room.

I like this stool style for your space. I’d try to find a similar style with swivel seats to make conversation with people behind much easier, and to make it less likely to have to scoot them away from the counter.

I love the style of the stools but the orange is a tad too strong. You were on the right track bringing in something in that family but it needs a different orange. Or a brick red.
