Resealing knotty pine walls

I am needing some help. we have knotty pine walls. I do not want to paint them. I just want to reseal them. It appears as there a small shein on them. The question I have is that when my kids were younger, they had wrote on some of the boards. How do I properly remove the writting? Do I sand them all down or use mr eraser? Do I just use tung oil or do I use something else to reseal them?

I’m not convinced that the pine has anything (finish/seal) on it now. It looks just like the aged untreated pine in my parents’ house… a beautiful golden patina. What was used to write on the walls? ink, pencil, paint, ?

It has a couple small spots of pen and crayola marker

Basically ink then.. Try reading these — they suggest using one or more of dish soap, baking soda, rubbing alcohol or hairspray, etc, to remove ink from wood. I’d use a q-tip.
