It looks like you only have two lamps. Start with adding more lamps and this includes floor lamps as well.

Have you thought to you a swag chandelier and hang that over the coffee table it would somewhat fit your vibe, and give ambient light. I would much rather see a desk lamp for the home school area with a flush mount above

Hmmm not a swag over that table..I would look for a huge arc floor lamp instead more intentional…and no cord hanging..your room is just beautiful the way it is!

I see lots of items in use - a prominent arc lamp might seem crowded in.

Is it usually in a specific style with modern, and minimal, so the lamp's elegant arc is on display?

Im just not a fan of adding more to the space, it is pretty just the way it is, a ceiling light may actually center the room. no one said you couldnt get cord covers or do a modern twist on how the cord is "swagged"

torchiere lamp would get you some general room light, perhaps replace the large lamps with one smaller directional for sofa reading.
