Using a vintage tin for food storage

I have a vintage Hershey's Instant Chocolate tin from the 70's(?) that I would like to put fresh Nestle's Quik in. The tin has some corrosion spots inside. Can I paint the inside of the can with something so I can use it? The Nestle's Quik is just loose powder mix. If so, what type paint should I use? Thanks.
