Window Order Mix-Up

Hi all,

We're renovating our house and part of it involves a small addition to grow the size of our den/tv room. We have an issue where the architect in the elevation drawings had the correctly sized windows for the new space (matching the existing/remaining window and everything else on the first floor), but included the incorrect size code.

The GC is a close family friend (I know, I know) who admittedly screwed up, and ordered windows and framed based on the size code. When we looked at the size they framed it was clearly off, he agreed and had the framers come back to fix and ordered the correct sizes. The distributor of the windows doesn't/won't accept returns so we are now left trying to figure out how to lose the lease money on the incorrect windows. We think that both the architect and the GC screwed up, but we are not going to hold the GC to it as we are very close and he's doing the project for minimum anyways. We haven't reached out to the architect but aren't really expecting anything.

We've asked the GC to reach out to others to see if there is anyone in need of the incorrect sizes we ordered, especially given the lead-time for delivery, but nothing yet. Do any of you have advice or suggestions on re-selling new windows (Andersen 400s if it matters). We've looked at eBay potentially and Facebook, but hoping there's a more targeted solution people may be aware of.

Thanks in advance for any help!
