Paint/primer help...

Hello all!

I have recently moved into an apartment that, upon my move in, was painted a chaotic collection of colors. The apartment is around 600 square feet with 10-foot ceilings made up of all paneling. The kitchen was (and still currently is) painted bright red, the bedroom was painted an obscene painters tape-esque blue, and the living room was painted a light brown on the top half of the walls and an atrocious purple on the bottom half (what I'm assuming was the result of mixing the leftover paint from the kitchen and the bedroom because who would sell such an awful color). I have since painted over the purple in the living room and I'm trying to find the ideal dark, warm orangey hue to go on the top. That, however, is not what brings me here today.

My first large project is going to be painting my bedroom. I have already picked out a beautiful dark green for the walls but not before testing other greens in different areas. The paint color that I tested the most is an extremely dark green that almost looks black and, once I found the green that I'm actually going with, I attempted to paint over the super dark green to see what the coverage is like. There is a pretty significant difference in the color when painted directly over the blue and when I tried to paint over the super dark green. My question is if I should attempt to only prime the areas where I have tested the super dark green color in an attempt to achieve even coloring throughout the room or will priming just these areas result in lighter coloring than the rest of the room?

I will include photos of the bedroom but please excuse the mess! I'm still sorting/organizing and this is not the way I usually keep my space!

The super dark green with one thin coat of the not-so-dark green around the top edge (not an accurate test of the not-so-green, just tried to get rid of some run-off from the roller).

The super dark green with some patches of the not-so-dark green over it.

Super dark green on the left, not-so-dark green on the right, my attempt at painting over the super dark green in the middle.

(Left side of photo) super dark green on top left, not-so-dark green over the super dark green on the right, not-so-dark green underneath. I am also planning on painting the cabinet and "frame" on the right side of the photo to match the rest of the white trim in the room.

Weird closet, better view of the sampling from the last photo.

Another view of the sampling from the first photo.
