We did two colors in our small kitchen in an old home. Walnut island and white perimeters - I happen to like the way it looks very much :)

The combination sounds lovely. They are both light colors. I think you be fine.

I would need to see the space and some surrounding spaces for a better idea of what you like. I never like tan as a color unless it is wood .

I am not finding either of those colors so what barnd of paint are you using or are these colors froma cabinet company? It is always good to post pics of colors you are talking about .
