General Practices When Withholding Money From Windows Installation

What are the general practices when withholding money from the total bill of the window dealer until issues on the punch list is completed??

Here are the issues that have not been resolved:

1. Cracked window was installed. It was blamed on the homeowner (ME) by the Master installer.

Window Cost $880.00

2. Damaged Window was installed: Window Cost $980.00

3. Window was installed by window installer: Damaged window frame and damaged seal Window cost: $1,500.00

4. Five damaged screens. Unknown what the replacement cost would be as the screens were included in the total cost of the windows.

They did provide duct tape to homeowner to so he could personally tape the screen together until they can get a replacement from the manufacturer as no one has screening material in their work trailers anymore. I hope the duct tape holds in the weather we are having in the LA of the Rockies!!

5. Missing outer box trim on 1 window.

Of course, the window dealer is blaming the window manufacturer for the problems and wants 90% of the total bill.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated on handling this issue.

Thank you for your help and consideration.
